Americauna dark brown eggs

Sorry, they must be Easter Eggers, often sold as Ameraucaunas. True Americaunas only lay blue eggs as well as having other specific characteristics. Easter Eggers can lay a range from brown - blue - green. Anyone, feel free to correct me if I am misinformed!

I'm not hugely disappointed because the dark brown eggs are kinda cool. Most blues and greens I've seen are (no offense intended) kinda blah. I was just expecting blue or green.

Check out the "olive eggers" thread.

Blue egg chickens crossed with Welsummers or Marans lay a dark green, olive, dark turquoise, dark army green eggs to very dark brown shades. Beautiful eggs. If the brown coating is too thick, the blue underneath does not show through.

Anyway, sounds like she is an Olive Egger, not Easter Egger

Just shades of word meanings.
