Hello! As it turns out, one of our beautiful Americauna hens is a rooster! Born 4/1/15, and gets along with other chickens, and even our dog. He needs to go ASAP, we can provide transport!

I just tools a look to see. It is in fact that both birds in your picture are roosters. However, they are not true ameraucana. They are the common mutt they are often mixed up as, an Easter Egger.

How do you know the white one is a rooster? The darker one is the loud one as far as I know.

I agree the white bird looks like a cockerel also. He has hackle and saddle feathers, those long pointy pretty feathers hanging down from his neck and his back, just in front of the tail. On your dark bird, they're the yellow/gold feathers, on the white bird they're white tipped in black.

If you want to confirm, get a profile pic of the white bird and post it in our "What breed or gender?" section. Lots of folks there have a good eye for roosters.

I know the white one is a rooster simply because I am very familiar with EE and I know females don't get that pattern. He also has long pointy saddles that are only found on a rooster. He also has a big pink comb for his age and nice pointy yellow hackles.

I can guarantee you 100% he is. I'm just not sure how to explain.

PoultryQueen101 and donrae are correct, both of those birds are definitely Easter Egger cockerels.
