Amerucana Hen or Rooster? (1 year old)

@maybekeeper I had one hen that I doubt ever laid an egg (Austra-White) she had spurs, and was very dominant. Didn’t crow though, she always had a rooster around. But she suddenly died one day and I opened her up and found a small deflated looking testicle. So in her case it was a hormonal issue. Cause of death was unrelated BTW. I don’t know if there is a way to stop it, same issue with roosters. You can look into crow collars but you have to understand the risk with those. Maybe keep her locked up until a reasonable hour in the morning so as not to wake the neighbors? You could ask them if it bothers them. Or not worry about it until someone complains. You aren’t breaking the rules, you don’t have a rooster, just a hen that wishes she was.
She may, or may not lay eggs. But she probably doesn’t think anything is wrong and I wouldn’t think she is suffering in anyway.

Thanks for the help! Hopefully the neighbors can deal with it in exchange for eggs from the other girls.
