The top pic is of the coop from the driveway , The fence is the pen it's 5 foot tall , The "girls an the roo" , I need to rebuild the roost, The bottom is the egg tally the 6th to today.

16 hens an the roo, we bought chicks from 2 different people last spring, we had 35 chicks an last fall I culled roos to the 16 we have now, an yes I have 2 heat lamps going in the coop for winter but in spring I'll go to a 40 watt light, and leave the outside pen open for them, they stay in it ,in fall I have a "chute " that gives them access to the garden for feeding on the old garden scrapes, an tilling an fertilizeing for the next spring.
