An Annoying Gander Question

I adopted two geese (a mated pair) from a woman who hated them. I have four other geese who are well behaved, all mated pairs. I discovered that the new gander is impressed on humans and is looking for love in all the wrong places and insists on biting and misbehaving. He's scaring my goats. My other geese are pretty annoyed with his behavior. I've been discouraging his behavior but he's pretty insistent.

If I were to put him in freezer camp, how desperately sad would this make his girlfriend? Could she become a mate to one of the other ganders?

That depends on how bonded the pair really is. Sounds like he isn't all that bonded to her with those actions. Can you remove him from where she is and see how she reacts? Put him where she can see him, even if it's a dog crate and carry him to the house. This will give you a clue on how she will handle him being gone.

He seems like a misguided soul. Of course breeding season is upon us when most male waterfowl act foolishly aggressive. If you can stand him for another month, he should shape up, if not, she should be fine as long as she has the others for company. Not sure the dog crate idea would work, but it's worth a try...........Pop

Thanks for the advice. He's tried to dance for me quite a bit with the snaky neck thing and the biting. I put him in his place, but he's still pretty insistent. I guess playing hard to get is a turn on for him.

I'll give him a stay of execution for at least a month. My goats won't be thrilled, though.
