Last year, I couldn't get chicks to hatch for anything, despite great fertility & development - they either drowned or dried out during the pip/zip process, even in my Sportsman (last year's splurge, to replace my problematic Hovabators).
This year, I haven't been advertising the hatching eggs as much, so I've just been setting the eggs. And now, I'm swimming in chicks. I just shipped out 60 today - not bad for a chicken hobby breeder with only 30-ish birds! Then, tonight, I was checking on the last set in the hatching tray, which were supposed to finish hatching on Monday, but chicks kept appearing. A quick check up on the setting trays revealed that a tray I had set to hatch on 6/3 is hatching NOW.
No, they're not hatching early (at least, not that early!). I must've just lost track of the trays and their estimated hatch dates while I've been inundated with chicks. But...that's a better problem to have then no one hatching at all!
