Analyze this poo, please!

Acres has a good point here. Sometimes what they eat will show up in their food, however, if the poop looks like raw hamburger, the best description I can think of, it is probably cocci, which seems rampant this year in spite of meds in the feed. And another good point...never panic! Assess everything, including their actions and the color in their faces. Cocci can actually cause a sort of anemia type look with very pale faces.

It was green apple peel. We eat granny smiths.

The sleepy look...they aren't quite to the turtle stage yet. Right now they just...nod off. They're like old men! They just suddenly droop their heads in the middle of the action, then jerk awake again and wander around for a minute until they suddenly nod off. They were very active, so it's not normal behavior for them. No other symptoms aside from the poop in the picture linked in the first post.

I found some corid this afternoon! I gave them one table spoon per gallon of water, I hope that's right. I dipped the two sick pullets' beaks in the water several different times, and the white polish has been drinking a lot on her own. I decided to just go ahead and treat everyone with it. Do you know how it effects the eggs? I have two laying hens. It's almost been long enough since they had Sulmet for us to eat their eggs...do I have to wait another 10-14 days after finishing the corid?

Corid is just concentrated Amprolium and you can still eat the eggs while treating. And I think it's 10cc of liquid Corid to a gallon of water or 9.5 cc, close enough I guess.

Yes, according to the label, it is 10cc per gallon for 5-7 days, and then 2.5cc per gallon for 1-2 weeks.

I have been battling cocci recently as well. I took a stool sample to the vet that looked identical to yours and he confirmed it was cocci.

Also, my 4 week old chicks have started having bloody stool and they are on the medicated feed! So now they're getting the Corid as well.

Cocci is terrible this year....that or someone is selling UNmedicated feed as medicated. Seems it doesn't matter if there are meds in it, they all get it anyway. I may quit feeding medicated feed and just start using Corid when I see trouble.
