Quick question I would love to hear all your feedback for.

I have an egg at 23 days this morning. Should I be worried???? The temps did run low for over a week, at about 90 to 95 and I ended up having to buy a new incubator towards the end of this hatch and got it easily up the the required temp for the last week. I did candle it very carefully this morning despite caution about not touching it after Day 18, but I was worried. Anyway, there are still veins apparent in some very small spots, but mostly it is black with the air cell. Up until yesterday morning ( I havent watched close since) I could see the slightest movement of the egg occasionally.

I know I have read this can happen but I am really nervous watching it happen! Could "It" be fine in there still???

Well, since I thought it was time to give up ( iam on day 24 now) I candled it just a few minutes ago and I can still see movement. And if I whistle to it, the eggs moves. How late do you think it could be have temps that low for that long...they were probably 95 ish or so, not totally unreasonable but for some reason after a week of fine temps, the incubator went nuts and we bought a new one.....

Im keeping my fingers crossed but not extremely optimistic about it. I really cant keep a roster wher I am, but if this egg makes it...it is staying with me FOREVER!

Oh, I have also heard some people mention putting a pinhole in the shell in the air cell after a certain about of days late...have any of you ever heard of that?

If it were me, if I saw movement I would say a little prayer and put it back in the bator and leave it be. I hope it hatches and is a girl!

Thanks pretty much what I did!!!

BeckyLA, where in Lousiana are you from, my mom is from OakGrove, LA, up in Northern LA. We head down there every few years to visit family that is still there....

I'm north of Ruston, pretty much central and north of I 20. I looked up Oak Grove but my map program says there a quite a few. Where is you Mom?

My mom lives in CT with me now, but grew up in Goodwill, which I believe is part of Oak Grove. Close to Bastrop. It is in the Northeastern corner. I still have family there and in New Orleans, Shervport, Lafeyette....

small world!
