Sigh, my adopted goose has Angel wing in both wings. I have tried wrapping him but his friends pick it off in just a few minutes. I think he is too old now as his blood feathers are coming in. Should I keep trying or resign myself to funny looking goose. When wrapped he flips around and has no balance.

Hello, do you have pictures? How old is he? Is it feathers or the lower portion of the wing sticking out like a hitchhiker thumb? Are the wings just heavy with the new feathers coming in? Is he on a high protein diet?

I have four goslings that will be 5 weeks on Monday. Last week Levi started having issues with the feathers coming in. They would not tuck under the upper wing. Miss Lydia told me to be patient and after a few days he was able to tuck again. When the blood feathers come in they are heavy for them and they have to build muscle tone. Everyone is having slightly droopy wings right now but they frequently tuck them up.

In the pictures below you could see the wing feathers sticking out but the bony wing portion was still straight and in alignment with his body.

If your goose has angel wing can you isolate him with the calmest member of the flock maybe then he can keep the wrap on it may also keep him from flapping around too much. Are you using coban dressing that sticks to itself? Can you use a sticky tape over the top to keep secure?

I’m a newbie in the raising of geese but figured I would see if I could offer some advice. @Miss Lydia has been very helpful answering my numerous questions.

You gave great advise!

Only halfway. They are the little black feathers at the end. I can see they are full of blood, but he doesn't try to tuck them up. 20190707_103640.jpg 20190707_103517.jpg easiest to see from the back but Natasha makes sure to stay between me and then at all times.

If they are growing in then I’d wrap ASAP there is a very good chance this can be corrected. When the wings are full of blood they are very heavy and they keep putting them in the right position then they’ll droop again but that’s how they build the muscles to hold them up where they should be. In the first pic it def looks like angel wing.
