i have three brooders currently going. one has my 2 four week old bar rocks, one with my 3 three week bantums( golden seabright and two millie fluers) and 2 two week pro reds, and one with 2 two week gold comets. since they are all going into the same coop ive been doing my best to get them all outside at the same time so they can interact. well the only reason the comets are seperate from the other 2 week old is we had a bit of an emergency and had to keep one of the girls seperated, then once she was feeling a little better we gave her her friend back. my only problem is that when they are all outside, ive got a little 4 foot round of chicken wire i put down to keep them from running away) everyone gets along fine. A little play bumping here and there but no real pecking. well i figured that since my little miracle is doing much better i would try and put her back in the brooder with the other five( its a big 30 gal rubbermaid tote) but as soon as i do my little seabright gets very vicious. Doesnt let them eat or drink, chases them around pecking and grabbing at neck feathers, then dragging them around by the feathers, and as soon as i remove the comets, golfball(the seabright) starts in on the two pro reds, who it gets along with just fine any other time. im wondering if i should keep them seperate, or try and integrate them and just let them establish a pecking order and keep watch in case it gets over the top bad. or maybe just isolate my seabright? do you think it could be that theres not enough space for them? sorry im very new at this... 8 days in now. and i just want to make sure everythings going to work out fine with the flock without having to get rid of anyone for being a bad little chicken. any advice please?
