A batch of 30 CornishX arrived from Schlecht Hatchery happy & healthy this morning. We just hatched 27 barnyard mixes (Red Ranger over BR, BO, RR or Ameraucana) out a month ago to replace some layers this fall. There are several roosters in that batch that will get processed with these meat birds.
The RR crosses have done well. I've been doing them for years. The Roosters I butcher between 12-14 weeks (depending on my schedule). The carcass is roughly the same size as the CornishX.
