We got Ameracauna eggs of ebay and hatched them out last July, All the adult chickens have normal feathers. We hatched our first bator full ( from the birds we hatched last year) on feb 14th and the second on feb 19th. We now have 3 out of 40 hatched eggs that are silkied. The adults are standard colors and are full blooded. We just have them all running to together ( all colors). About a week ago someone came to buy some chicks, when we were helping them pick out some I noticed this chick was differant so I quickly put it in our keep brooder. I remembered the post on here about the silkied Ameracaunas. After the guy left we went threw the rest and found 2 more. How weird, right? We do have silkies but they are in cages. these chicks have green legs, muffs and beards and normal color skin. I just thought I would share.

I would say based on the yellow and greenish tint to the feet that the adults are not pure ameraucana. Ameraucana have white skin and typically slatey blue shanks.

Ok, I could be wrong, I get confused sometimes with all these posts. But I saw one where in her country that is the way the breed is. I want to say it was norwegian (sp?) I wish I had some though! lol

Pretty!!
