Hi there, I'm not new to chickens, just this board. I got hooked in my HS Biology class, and 22 years later I'm still crazy about chickens. I have an average backyard flock, an average countertop incubator, and have usually had good luck with my hatches. This year I had one failed hatch (too cold out before i gathered the eggs) and one disappointing hatch (old incubator? got 4 out of 40), so I bought myself a new incubator. This hatch is an improvement in percentages, but not numbers. 2 ducks out of 6, 3 chicks out of 22. What now? I guess I get an extra thermometer and test some things.
