My daughter and I started a home school project last year to build a coop and chicken run. The more time I spent reading (or lurking) the more I became invloved with the flock. I had chickens as a child but it had been a long time!! We currently have 6 Barred Rock Hens, 3 - 5 week old black Marans, 3 - 7 day old black Marans, 1 - 7 day old Copper Marans and one unknown rooster, I will posting his picture so hopefully someone can identify the Roo otherwise known as Houdini. We just completed our first hatch with some Ebay eggs and it turned out okay but there is lots of room for improvement.

I'm glad to see that there are many on the forum near us. We are in Plant City. Hope to meet some of you at a swap sometime.
