My “gals” are 17 weeks now. But this one RIR is curious to me. Her comb and wattles are much bigger, she’s always guarding the others, though I realize she could be head hen, and she’s the only one who won’t squat when I touch her, very hands off. Thought?
EDIT: just realized this may be in wrong forum? Sorry.

Definitely a pullet. A rooster should have male specific saddle feathers by now and most would be crowing long before now. She's just maturing faster than the other girls, she'll probably be the first to start laying.

Yes it is in the wrong section but that’s fine, I’ll request them to move it. And that’s a lovely pullet btw
Thanks and sorry about that! And whew, I’m very glad, guess she’s just a bit bigger and more dominant. She’s still very sweet though.

thank you! I actually have a barred rock her age that is already laying, so far she’s the only one.
