We have had chickens for just over a year now. Currently, we have two roosters, ten hens and five pullets. Of the 17 chickens, two (one hen and one rooster) are egyptian fayoumis, four (one rooster and three hens) are silver-laced wyandottes, one buff orpington, five red stars, one barred rock pullet, two RIR pullets and two black star pullets. I initially found backyardchickens.com when I was doing research before deciding to get chickens. I finally decided to join when I was reading a thread on cute chicken names and wanted comment!
Some of my hobbies are gardening, cooking and painting. Of course you could say that starting new hobbies is my hobby, since I like to try everything out! But, my favorite thing to do is to sit on my hammock out under the maple tree nearest the coop and hang out with the chickens.
