Hey there, nice to be here. No chickens yet, I'm still reading up on it, but I seem to have caught the fever.

I'm a very married mother of 4 who lives in a 96 year old farmhouse that got plunked down on the east side of Columbus. I have one awesome husband, 4 kids, 2 crazy cats, and a garden and I thought, "Gee, wouldn't some chickens be swell?"

Wish me luck. I hope to be set up before autumn. I'm laid off and hubby took a pay cut, so getting a coop and things set up is going to be a challenge, but worth it I think.

Try Craigslist and Freecycle.org for materials for the coop. I think if you really try you can get everything for almost free.
