Welcome to BYC!! Your chickie is so cute!!I’ve kept chickens for years, but I have recently decided to get a little more serious!
Standard Salmon Faverolles are my breed of choice, they have fabulous natures, I love their look and they work well in my climate. Their egg production doesn’t overwhelm me. This also means I can’t be tempted to set billions of eggs!
I do have a number of other chickens I’ve acquired and my first set of incubated babies are mixed breed. I thought I’d be sensible to not to learn on expensive shipped eggs as my fav flock is aging and not as productive to gather adequate eggs to set a decent amount.
I’ve had a steep learning curve in incubation as my ladies aren’t particularly broody. It’s very addictive watching them hatch and seeing how fast they develop. I’m hoping to develop my own quality line and maybe tinker with a Frizzle Fav project.
So many questions I’d typed in led me to this forum, so I’m hoping to soak up more knowledge from the giants before me!
