Hi,
I've had my first three chickens for one week. I have two sons who are 3 and five and who are completely in love with the new additions to our family! They chickens had the run of the garden for the first time yesterday - it was fantasic to watch! I'm sorry to start my first post with a query but we had a really cold, rainy day yesterday and I think one of my chickens has a cold. She seems to have a little cough / sneeze - can't work out what it is!!!! - and her nose is running. She's fine in all other ways - eating, pecking about happily. I've googled advice and there's so much out there I don't know where to start. Does anyone have anything simple they can suggest?
Great to join you

I would add some vitamins/electrolytes to the water for about 7 days to see if that helps. Give them some yogurt (be sure to stand back

) Hopefully that will help. Otherwise you could try the VetRX (works a lot like the human version of vicks) Good luck!

And WELCOME!

Maybe some VetRx would work you can get that from Jeffers Livestock Supplies.

from California. I just read somewhere that chickens do not get colds. My suggestion is to post her symptoms on the "Emergencies/Diseases/Cures". There are some very knowledgeable folks that help out there. Good luck!
