She is a two year old Americana.
she molted several months ago.
I am not sure if she has laid since
she did lose a shelless egg on the roost Wednesday night
she did not come out to eat yesterday morning when I went out to feed.
I found her in the nest.after six hours.i brought her in the house.she poop what look like egg whites and yolk.
I gave her a warm bath and massage her abdomen.kept her in the house until she was dry.
DH and I gave her a dose of liquid calcium.
this morning more poop but look more like egg.
not eating or drinking.I flushed her out and we gave her a shot of tylan.she is in her coop.separated from the rest of the flock.

.

penicilian would that be better than tylan for infection?

For egg yolk peritonitis or internal laying most people that can't get Baytril or other strong antibiotics from their vet will use penicillin. Tylan is used more for respiratory disease. Dosage for Procaine Penicillin G is 1/4 to 1/2 ml into the breast muscle daily for 4 days. Use a 20 gauge needle, shake the medicine well, and warm the medicine out of the refrigerator before giving the shot.

thank you.I lost two red star sex link last year to internal laying.I am going to do all I can to save this one.she is such a sweet heart.i raised her from a peep.
