Hello!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Yup... just got my first two baby chicks yesterday.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

2 baby chicks!

(3) What breeds do you have?

I have a Sussex and a Barred Rock.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

Google

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

Lots of things.. snowboarding, reading, gardens and now, rearing baby chicks to healthy laying hens!

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

My husband and I are new to raising chickens. We have 2 dogs - a wonderful, loving grandpa boxer of almost 8 years and a cuddly, loveable rottie of 2.5 years. We have good size backyard and we are excited about our new baby chicks!

I have been searching the internet for any and all information on raising baby chicks and keeping backyard hens for fresh eggs and companionship. I came across this site and was excited to join the forum.

, You are sure to find alot of information here on BYC. Sometimes more than you want, and sometimes things that will blow your mind.

Anyway welcome from Arkansas.

Hello Everyone and thank you for the warm welcome. I am enjoying my new babies. My barred rock seems a bit more friendly and curious than my sussex. But, my little sussex is coming along too. Both are stretching their wings and getting used to their new home.

Hello fellow San Diegan hen keeper! My first 4 days of chickens has been so much fun, and I'm slowly breaking in my neighbors to the idea. I was getting some strange worried looks from them at first

Hope you're enjoying your babies as much, and good luck with introductions to your dogs. Can't tell you how relieved I was that they get along.
