Hello hello!

These partridge chickies are about 6 weeks. I have some thoughts on the sex of each..and those thoughts change by the hour! Im excited to start training my eye for this though. I’ve got 5 straight run cuties from Ideal - I don’t think they’ll have beards. Their head feathers are just growing in so there’s not much to go off of yet in terms of shape. (I know it’s very early!)

Chick 1 (I think girl..this is about as tall as it stands)

Chick 2 (I think boy based on that comb & some bright color)

Cute little beardless hatchery quality Silkies.🥰
These are generally easier to sex earlier than the super fluffy breeder quality ones.
Males will develop wattles fairly early, so look out for this.
Also that they are partridge will help you identify them earlier. Partridge colored Silkie males develop red over the wings.
If I had to hazard a guess, only number 4 and number 2 look male so far.😊

Edited my response as I went back and looked at them again!😊
Thanks so much!! Are you primarily looking at comb?

I would love to have more than one lady, but I have to say 1 is the only one that has screamed girl to me as they’ve grown thus far. Time will tell and I will be keeping a much closer eye on that chin area!

(I’m excited to add some fluffier beauties to my flock soon as well - maybe with my first shot at hatching!?)
