Another silkie question

Their wings could stand to be a little more shredded, but they're not bad. At least the tail doesn't appear to have hard feathers.

This is the rule I go by. For every 100 chicks you hatch from a Show Quality pair, you "MIGHT" get 5 that are keepers. If that many. Show Quality pairs do produce Pet Quality or Breeder Quality offspring. You have to do alot of hatching to get Show Quality offpsring.

Wow, does it really take hatching that many to get a few good birds? I thought that is why breeders line breed is so that all the birds look the same!

There is nothing out of the ordinary with your birds wings. Silkies do not have silkie feathered wing featehrs, they are regular feathers but the ends should be "frayed" or "shredded".
