The females are usually darker than the males. I just sold two Buff Dundottes and the one in your picture looks just like the female in terms of how dark the head stripes were, but lighting in the photograph can make a difference, too. My male BD keet was lighter, but I guess they all vary in terms of light and dark. Did you have another keet to compare it to? It's a cutie no matter what! Congratulations. This is the only one that has hatched out this color out of like thirty or so eggs and I don't even have grown buffs lol. But I think your right on the color, I have hatched out pintos with the eggs also, so anything is possible.
Yep, Buff Dondotte. Most likely a male, since it's so light. I'm not sure what colors/varieties you have in your flock, but obviously 2 birds that are carrying the right genes to produce Buff Dundotte hooked up, lol.
