Answered Thanks! Duramycin-10 info??

Noticed the cut this last night it is much redder and raw looking this moring I wanted to get some antibiotics in the little fellow before all gets worse. Went to the feed store, I normally use a different kind of antibiotic but couldnt find it only Duramycin-10.
Anyone know the dose per gallon of water?

For Turkeys Duramycin 10 Indications Recommended Dosage Level
Control of infectious synovitis caused by Mycoplasma synoviae, bluecomb (transmissible enteritis, corona viral enteritis) complicated by organisms sensitive to tetracycline hydrochloride.
INFECTIOUS SYNOVITIS: Use soluble powder in the drinking water at a drug level of 400 mg tetracycline hydrochloride per gallon per day in divided doses. BLUECOMB: Use soluble powder in the drinking water at a drug level of tetracycline hydrochloride per gallon to provide 25 mg/pound of body weight per day in divided doses. (Administer for 7-14 days).

Im trying to do the math on the back but still not thinking I have it right....
So does 1 teaspoon per gallon sound right?

I couldnt find the ointment we normally use only power. It is not sick only a bad infected looking cut.

it is basically terrmycin
give 2 tsp per gallon and remake the medicated water ebery 8 hrs
they will tell you longer but your wasting the birds health by not making it every 8 hrs

clean the wound and put neomycin salve on it and lock the bird up in a place where the other birds can't pick his wound

hopefully you can keep the flies off his wound so he doesn't get maggots

may I suggest you contact Dmiths poultry supplies for a stronger medication

A NOTE on terramycin

keep in air tight dark jar in frig after opening the sack
terramycin is destryed by heat, air and sun lite
