Not really making me wait because they're still young, but the girls are getting ready to lay! I have a brown sex link pullet whose comb and wattles are reddening up and VERY interested in the nesting boxes, and the Lakenvelder is also reddening up a bit and also very curious about the nesting boxes. The two Polish pullets are not that far along, but I don't have high expectations of them anyway. This is my first flock and I'm so excited, even though I realize that we are probably still a few weeks out, they're only 17 weeks old. I see all these "first egg" posts from people that got their chicks not much earlier this year than I got mine, so I'm on pins and needles watching for that magical first egg!
