she was lying around when i went to let them out this morning. she laid her egg but is still wanting to ly around. just picks at food eats very little of it. her poop has alot of yellow in it. can anyone help please? she is a little over a year old.

Hi, since you've been around here a while, I am sure you know about the "normal poop" chart (link) and all that. I assume that her "yellow poop" must be "every" or most poops or you wouldn't mention it.... as a yellow one now and then is normal.
Is she "lying around" in the nest, in the same place where she laid the egg? On eggs, or where they would be? Could she be broody?
If it's the Buff Orpington... they go broody quite often, right?
She is a year old... she laid... so, she is not eggbound. Is she drinking water? Have you checked and massaged her crop? Have you wormed the flock.... how, when, with what, etc, if appropriate.
All the rest of the flock are acting fine? Do they free range?
You know the routine here... some more information would be very helpful.
Behavior: maybe she's broody? Illness: more info required and maybe move the post to Emergencies.... if you don't think she's gone broody?

Hopefully someone else can help more... best of luck.

in it. and yes i have seen the chart. it looks kinda in the normal. no she isnt laying in the nest. she was under a tree, i saw ants getting on her foot so i moved her to the poarch. she laid there a while then she went off with rosey pecked a little in the grass then laid back down. she got back up to walk over where rosey was under a tree laying down so she is laying down with each other. and yes every body else is acting fine. she is drinking fine but doesnt care much about eating. yes they free range. no she isnt broody she has been before. no i havent wormed. i did post to the sickness and disease also. thanks
