Since where I live bsf are from 21eur/kg up, I only feed bsf to chicks and pullets as snack for training purpose. They love it.
For nutritional value I chose cheaper options like eggs, meat or fish scraps, and bovine colostrum curd, which in my specific case are all free.
If you can find bsf that cheap, go for them. They are certainly good for chickens.
