I am looking for a way to see where my money, supplies and time are going. I am wondering if anyone has a program, spreedsheet or even paper type way of doing it for their flock they care to share. It does not have to be complicated. In fact the simplier the better. When I was a kid my Dad and I raised rabbits and just kept a notebook on it but as I recall it was a special type that had places for expenses and such.
I know I am not making money on my birds few of us will but, I would like to see where the money is going and as I just put out quite a bit for some new additions to the flock I really do need to see how and where the money is going. I need to see my feed bill, my expenses on egg supplies, pen upkeep, additions to the flock, health care and so on. I know I can just put it down in a note book but just wondering if there was such a way to put it down a little easier.
Please if you have a way or know of something I could look at let me know. i can use a computer pertty well but better at fixing them. Thanks a lot and I look forward to hearing your Ideas. Thanks a lot, Dave

we just keep a notebook and write down feed cost, and what we make from selling eggs. we use it for our taxes each year.
you could do it on your computer, probably is microsoft office program somewhere.

I understand why you're asking, but I SO don't want to know how much my girls are costing me!

I really don't want to know the cost either but, I have to see if I can even manage to feed the new ones I have and then sell the eggs as they get older. I know I can't do but so much either way but I just came into a bunch of new stock and I don't see how I can pass on it. I would have really nice documented birds and the kind I relly wanted without breaking the bank totally. Let's just see what happens. Thanks and please keep posting.

Microsoft works has a bookkeeping program. Or you can go to Staples and just get a ledger book (what you used with your dad). Good Luck!

NurseELB I think that is what I will do. Get a ledger and scan it into my computer with my scanner. I think it will do everything I want and then some. That way I can just tally it up each month. Thanks all, Dave
