I have been suffering last night and this morning from...An ear wax buildup... Been pondering not going in to work today because I can't hear, but I need the money for school. Going to the walk-in clinic after work. But ANYWAYS, to the Chicken part.. I went out to feed and water my ducks, chickens and turkeys, and when I was sitting watching the baby Pekin ducks eat, I thought... "What was going to wreck my day?" I had even forgot that my ear was built up. and now as I type this, the pressure has just broke, I can hear again!! Whew. so..that's my "Poultry as Healers" Story..

You got any good "Poultry as Healers" stories to share??

I lost my mom to breast cancer in October of last year,I am only 32 and am still having a hard time dealing with her death it is never easy no matter the circumstances. We rescued 3 chicks and that started the chicken craze. I find myself sitting in the run with one of my RIR pullets sitting on my lap and I just talk to her or cry if I feel I need to and my RIR Little she just sits there and nuzzles me. I have found that my chickens help me cope with the depression of losing my mom. I do find myself laughing more because of their funny antics and squabbles over who gets to use the dirt bath first. My husband tells me he is happy to see me laughing and smiling again.

Sometimes when you're feeling down a favorite hen can help. Animals are cool like that, they don't need to judge.
