I'm not sure what is going on. I'm in Nebraska and it has been getting cold here, mid 20s for about a week or so. Is this molting? Parasites? Bullying? The have a large coop and large run, I haven't seen any bullying issues. Please help

Thanks for sharing. One of my hens just started a few days ago. It's been chilly here in North Florida so I was getting worried. Her neck is looking just like that. The wisdom you all share is so helpful.

You can give her some additional protein to grow the new feathers. It's not absolutely necessary, but it's something I like to do especially when the molt is late in cold weather. Boiled egg is the best, oats work great as well, mealworms if you have them, a bit of ham/sausage as a rare treat (moderation is key, giving it often is bad for them), but make sure it's without spices and it's fresh, none of the canned stuff.

I say this all the time, but poultry vitamins in the water from time to time work wonders as well.
