Sussex are among the most productive DP breeds... Once the stressors settle down she should restart. You can kick start her by adding a light on a timer in the coop to come on an hour before dawn. Add an hour each week till you're at about 13 hours and I bet she is laying by then.

By all means keep the chicken breed that you desire or that you think is the best. Whether that hen lays a dozen eggs per day or a dozen eggs per year, if you are happy with her and her sisters, keep her.

All you new people remember this, when you hear the words "DUAL PURPOSE BREED" that means that the hen being discussed is neither a good layer nor will she make a good platter of fried chicken. The best that you can expect is that she has some of the good points as well as some of the bad points of all chicken breeds.
