I bought two silkies that were born this year, the earliest being May.. Any idea on how old they look by their feathering? I bought him from someone who hatches out a lot of silkies during the summer, and he couldn't pinpoint the exact age of them.
The buff silkie is our rooster, Steve. We have had Lorraine since August 9th (she's the lighter grey one.)
This is the bigger of the two. He's pretty sure she was born May or June, but she is so much smaller than the silkie I purchased from a different breeder, and around the same age.
This is the smaller one.. She is still young enough to make peeping sounds, but older than my first silkie (8 weeks when I got her), because her crest is much poofier.. I would also like to know what to call her colour.. It's a she, right? She has such a round poofy crest, with zero streamers. Could she be too young to tell? There were ones at the breeders the same age I could tell were boys.
