I went to TSC to get some feed and left with these 7 chicks. My husband didn't get out of the store fast enough so that should be a lesson to him! They were labeled Araucana on the bin which I doubt they are. Are they EE? Something else? They were so cute! I have some Ameraucanas already but I couldn't help myself! Ignore the little cochin in the last picture. I hatched him so I know what he is! Thanks!

They will probably be an array of different colors. Their baby feathers don't always tell very well with EEs. They will probably be dark, but other than that they could have just about any pattern.

They change a lot as they feather out, hard to guess what they might look like.
Here was mine as a chick

And this is Dottie now

She has a great temperament and lays a pretty mint green egg.

They will be different shades of brown probably, cute though. Here was mine when he grew up but he looked like yours when he was a chick:

It isn't a great picture of him, he was really handsome, but you get an idea of one possibility.

Looks like a fine group of EEs you got there. You're lucky; I haven't seen many EEs at my tractor supply. My EEs were mosty "partridge" colored, but I had one that turned out buff with a few darker feathers in her tail. I would suspect you have some partridge colored ones, but you might get a good variety. Looks like a grey beard on at least one of them. How much fun are you going to have watching them feather out!

Out of the 6 EE's we've had, 3 were the chipmunk stripe dark chicks; of those, 2 turned out the typical kind of penciled looking brown with more golden brown neck area & 1 grew up to be a pretty ivory with black & brown speckles down her back from neck to tail. One was a golden buff color (was told it was a 236) but turned into a strawberry blonde bird with red laced light-colored feathers. The other 2 were a very soft blue-grey, but they are now mostly ivory with some peachy-colored feathers. So, you REALLY just get a surprise with these! have fun!!!

DH brought home 3 EE's last week. One is a brown chipmunk and two are yellow.

The chipmunk has lots of feathers coming in and they are all the partridge type. The two yellow have many feathers coming in...appears they are all white.

I am very excited in anticipation of what they will look like as adults. They were sold as pullets but who knows?

Yippee!!! Thanks everyone! I'm excited they are EE. I have a Partridge Silkie and my kids just love the coloring. I don't have any other brownish birds so I'm happy they will be in that family. And honestly... anything is fine. Our chickens are more pets than anything else. I hope they will be friendly!
