In a fully developed egg? The chick was dead but the liquid was bright green. I have never seen this before in all the hatches I have done.

probably a bacterial infection. As an Rn that is the color of lig. sometimes in an infected area. jean

I dunno but that sounds pretty gross. Did it smell like it had started rotting?

No it had no smell. I figured some sort of infection, it was just weird.

Most likely a psuedomonas infection. That would give you the green liquid, although I would suspect a foul odor from the egg. But who really knows without a culture.

I had this too. I saw it in the bottom of the bator after a hatch. Weeeird....I swear it's exactly like thick green paint.

My hen had five eggs. She broke one of them, and when I had a closer look at the egg, it had this green liquid in the egg with no embryo.
