Much rounder than a typical one, and it has more orange, so I am leaning at least some part buff orpington.I was going to ask about any relation to red jungle fowl, then I saw the previous post! I am sure it is a hen, and definitely a red jungle fowl mix, as it has the plumage on its back, very little comb and wattle, and the tail shape. I am sure it is a mix, though, because it is a little more orange, and is friendly, which red jungle fowl aren't.
It is a mix, so it could lay any amount of eggs. My ayam cemani mix lays an egg every other day, currently even in winter (it is winter where I live) while pure Ayam Cemanis lay 80 eggs per year, or less.A little more info—- she wandered up to my sons house in Hawaii. Very friendly— actually comes and sits on his lap. He has read that most chickens there are in someway associated with Red Jungle Fowl.
Curious how often they lay eggs- what I read online is confusing.
Here are a couple more pictures.
