I have a 3 year old Sussex chicken. She has always been healthy and laid well until recently. She hasn't laid for 4 days. Her comb is dark red and droopy. She doesn't want to come out of the coop. I have been lifting her out and trying to tempt her with yogurt and meal worms, which she normally loves. She picks half heartedly but wants to get back into the coop straight away. Her crop is empty but no fluid is present. Her undercarriage is quite squishy and her breast bone is prominent.
Any ideas before I take her to vet

Is she molting?

I would check her for lice/mites while you examine her.
You mention a sqishy abdomen - how does she compare to your other hens - it she more bloated/feels fuller than the others?

With her age, she may have a reproductive problem like internal laying, EYP, cancer, tumors or Salpingitis - symptoms include weight loss in the breast, sometimes bloat/swelling or fluid in the abdomen, loose droppings, loss of appetite and sometimes difficulty walking and breathing.

Getting a fecal float to check for worm and coccidiosis overload is always a good idea, if you have vet care that is always best.

I'm sorry she isn't feeling well.
The vet is your best option, if it is something antibiotics will help the sooner you start them the better.
