Any ideas on my "redneck" chickens?? several pics

Hi all,
I'm so glad I found this site! I'm wondering if anyone has a clue as to what these mixed girls and guy could be. I got them from a friend of a friend and they were living up a hollar mostly wild. The girls are good layers of smaller lt brown eggs and my roo, Captain America, is a very good protector!
I have 2 girls in the dog house now setting on some eggs--hopefully they'll hatch next week!

Whitey is definately part RIR,. see the brick shaped body?

Captain America looks like he is part Brahma, maybe part RIR

Redneck and lil girl seem Old english game,lt brown leghorn, possible RIR types mixed, maybe a little orp in there too

Puff: well you know the debate about the Amauracana, looks to me like enough charecteristics to call him that

Thanks, Kris! I just have no idea! I would never have thought RIR for Whitey--cause she's not red!
But I can see the body shape resembles HennyPenny--my one true RIR.

i agree, I love roosters.....what a BEAUTIFUL rooster, those tail feathers do look RIR.

Very pretty birds.......they look like game crosses to me....I've had some look alot like that over the years!!!!

Hi Becky. You are pretty close to me, only around an hour north.

They look like game and EE crosses. My uncle used to have birds like that, in Vinton Co., OH. There's a ton of game blood in the counties between you and me and also on down to Huntington. Mix game with a little RIR and a lot of EE, and you have the quintessential redneck chicken

It looks like you have some scaley leg mites going on there. :| They are a pain to get rid of.

Icck, leg mites!! What do I do to get rid of those?? They did come from some unusual living conditions. I need to get rid of them quick!
I'll check out the faqs and see what I can learn.
