Any ideas

The past week for the first time in three years we have been getting broken eggs like a big hole in them and they are pulled out of the roosting box. My girls always lay in the box and never break their own eggs. Strange thing is last two night one chicken has been sleeping outside on a roost this has never been done before either. Someone suggested it might be a snake? So I will investigate tomorrow clean out the whole coop.

Snakes usualy swallow them whole. Sounds more like a small critter like rats or maybe skunks.

Still no luck finding this creature is there a way to tell if the chickens are doing it? I'mnot broken peices all over
