Any long islanders out there

I'm in lindenhurst, ny just was wondering if anyone else in my area had chickens. How much opposition am I gonna get. My neighbors already think I'm crazy. My family enjoys the fresh eggs. We had chickens at the last barn we had our horses. I got an assortment of chicks coming any day. So they won't be outside for a while. They will be in an enclosed area. Well if you're out there reply.

So I have mostly recovered from the hurricane I am on south 8th st my house is getting raised in a few weeks after all the work is done I was going to build a small chicken coop for 5 chickens are you still in Lindenhurst? Is there anything I should know? Any info would be great thanks
