Any Mississippi Chicken Folks Out There?!

My family is (hopefully) about to relocate from our home in the Jackson metro area to a country home in Jones County (once we sell our house and find one!). I was raised in a very rural community, and I can't wait to get back to my roots and teach my son about the outdoors/gardening/animal husbandry (even on a small scale). One of the most exciting parts of all this = chickens! I'm already planning to demolish an old barn to salvage wood for a coop and have researched several common breeds I'm interested in. Any other Mississippi chicken-folk on here?
