These are all supposed to be pullets, but I don't have a clue. No crowing, but a couple of these are what I would consider very "bossy" and since looking at some of the id's in this thread, I have come to the conclusion that I don't have a clue how to identify genders.

We hope they are all girls, because we would like to add a cochin roo just to complete the menagerie of breeds.

I'm not an expert but these look like hens to me. My Red Star hen looks just like that. I would also think at the age they are you would be hearing crowing by now. Our roo started at about 8-10 weeks old.

Funny, I noticed that JG #3's tail feathers had a bit of a bend in this photo. Hadn't noticed it before. Anyone else think I should wait on a new roo? My hubby would be thrilled if one of the JG's was a roo - they are "his" and likes the whole big macho chicken thing!

They appear to be all pullets

In case you don't know, the red sex link and the black sex link cannot be roosters because the roosters are an entirely different color. Idk about red sex links, but the black sex link hens are black with some red (like yours) and the roosters are barred and look very much like barred rocks, thats why yours has to be a pullet

That is what I thought, but she (the red) is a bossy little thing and "bows-up" on some of the other hens. I saw a thread somewhere that someone thought they had a sexlink pullet, but it turned out to be a roo. Maybe it wasn't a sexlink after all - sort of what I was wondering here.

Thank you to everyone. I am looking forward to getting a cochin roo - if I can find one!
