Okay. I am getting some malays. 2 roosters and 3 hens. My poultry book says theyre docile, well... I read up on them, and found out they can get a little brutal to other chickens. So now I am going to build another chicken pen for them, I really want them because they look so neat and I would love raising something like them and breeding them. Any suggestions on the dimension of the pen? I can't find too much on it anywhere on the web. I also read that the hens dont very often lay eggs, and that they have a hard time getting into a standard laying box. So what size should the laying box be? Does anyone have any good links to the answer to these questions, or has anyone raised these birds before?
