Good morning,

I need your ideas! Spraddle leg ideas for 3 week old Pekin. Has a wider stance then a baby chicken.

Medical tape yes, but I need something for the length between the legs that is firm & won't

Why not yarn? If you want something fairly stiff, then I would think sticking the tape to itself would make a cross-piece flexible but not too rigid.

I mean take two 2 inch pieces, say, and put the sticky sides together. You could build it up by adding more 2 inch lengths on top.

I used an emery board,covered it with plastic med. Tape, then silk med tape.

Where I run into trouble is getting the tape to stay stuck to his/ her just slightly above the "ankle".

It gives him support to stand, but whenever he lies down & goes to stand up the board goes up over his tail( not really a tail yet) & he cries.

I did not understand your yarn idea. Please explain again for me

Please keep us updated. I had read somewhere in the link I sent that hobbled babies can fall into water or otherwise get into trouble, so you need to keep an eye on 'em. Hope it goes well and quickly and is soon just a memory.

It is working so well!! I am checking & holding them regularly!! I have decided to leve it on for a few days, so he/ she can gain some strength & be able to hold himself up. He has just started to with success.
