Any tips for finding hidden nest?

Several of our girls decided that they would not lay in the nesting boxes when they got free range privileges. I found the first few nests but once found the nests the rebels of the group would find a new place. The last place was in the neighbors waist high grass and weeds.

I only found the nests and eggs because I followed after them like a crazy lady. SIGH! We have 10 acres so honestly there could have been eggs anywhere. Chicken jail was the result and the only reason we have eggs at the moment.

We put up a larger run attached to the coop and I put in some leftover hay bales and created natural chicken tunnels for them to lay in. So far they like their outdoor nest tunnels and the majority of them lay there with a few converting back to the nesting boxes.

Hopefully you find her secret spot :)

Yes that's what's happening; I found where one of them was laying but she's now abandoned that and is going elsewhere, and I still haven't found the other one's. Followed her for an hour again this morning, to no avail. I may rig up a temporary run once I have found them -don't want to do it before or I may never find the nests!

So it seems my stealth layer actually isn't, and took a week off instead! At least, I haven't been able to find a nest, and she laid in the other nesting box in the coop this morning... :bow
