To preface, I think my birds ARE happy, at least, as happy as breeders can be who are away from their home lofts, but I think they could be happier. Should I give them treats or anything? Do y'all have any tips for keeping your birds as happy as they can be? The young birds seem happy and energetic, luckily. Just want some tips for keeping them all the happiest they can!

Big enough coops, lots of digging and dust bathing space, worms and corn occasionally, lots of different snacks every day or two (check what foods your chickens can and can’t have and don’t give them the same thing everyday), tree branches and sticks to play on, plant’s they can peck at, and enough places to hide from other not so nice chickens. Hope this helps :)

Pssst. This is in pigeons and doves. I don't think they want worms and corn. XD

Mine like a boredom buster occasionally.
Cut a jack-o-lantern face on a pumpkin but leave all the guts inside. Good entertainment for you too when they start sticking their heads way back in its mouth. Haha.
Head of cabbage. Greens. For a chicken entertainment is food mostly. I do have some large rocks in my run they like to hop on. Bushes. Chicken jungle gym.

I know very little about pigeons. But I do know that a large flight cage goes a long way, with naturalistic perches.
When we had doves at the pet shop they always liked things that were "productive" and natural, like food based toys. They weren't big on ones that were just fun like the parrots.
,Correct!:thumbsup

I don't know what settings you have. But pigeons love to bathe in summer. Provide them a nice, big tub/pot of water. They will play while bathing. They love mustard seeds and lentils. Try that as treats.

Alright, I will. Maybe on one of these warmer days I’ll fill up an old tub I have with some warm water, let them bathe and not freeze. Mustard seeds is an interesting idea, though I SHOULD have some in the spice cabinet!

What pigeons(especially captive breeders) would enjoy most is a larger aviary!:D
That’s what I’m thinking. I’m planning on building a larger loft (going to use the red rose plans off pigeon.biz) so hopefully once I move all the young birds and a couple pairs of breeders into the new loft there’ll be more room for the captive breeders. They’re got decent room as is, but more is always better, especially more roosting space.
