I have enjoyed reading many books on chicken rearing. I tried to pick the kind of chickens that will have a good temperament, and also lay some pretty eggs. Now after watching them several days, I am wondering what they will look like when they go through the awkward "tween" stages.....anybody have any pics they would mind sharing? I know they will be there soon enough, but it would be fun to see any pics folks wouldn't mind digging up. You can see what I have below...oh, and another thing-I ordered 3 ameraucana (EE)chicks (Ideal) and two have the fuzzy cheeks, but one doesn't. Is that normal? TIA

Do you mean the nacked neck ones? Those were strange when I first saw them but, have seen a great many pics of them and they don't look so strange anymore. Although I don't think they are a bird I'll be having anytime soon.

On the EE: some have the "muffs" and some don't.....

Here are some tween pics:

Heh heh, yep, just like the gawky pre-teen years....I guess it is a good thing chickens
don't have teeth, cause they would have those big chicklet teeth and reeeally be scary!

Actually, I am kinda looking forward to it, I have already had so much fun watching the fuzz disappear and the little tail feathers emerging!
