I have a banty mutt that my son got at a rodeo last summer. Since acquiring the 10 hens and 1 rooster recently, the banty has been living in a cage because I have no where else but the coop to keep him, and I don't want the two roosters to fight. Is there anything I can do to mix the two roos, or do I have to get rid of the banty?

I keep 2 silky roos and have no probs. Ithink mine getting along is an exception. You could see which fem likes which roo and divide them into to separate coop/run areas.

I keep 2 Roo's in all my pens. As long as you have enough hens it should be alright. They may go at each other a little at first but will calm down as soon as they divide up the girls.

I just put the cage in the coop w/ the banty in it. No reaction so far from the SF roo. Hard to tell with the banty. Any suggestions on when I could turn him loose?

I have 4 roos in the coop w/my hens. I'd say give it a week of him in the cage in the coop. Then let him out. If in fact they appear to fight too aggressively for you. Put him back in the cage again for another week and try again. Worked for us. Good luck.
