Ive been selling off some of my birds the past couple weeks. Decided I wanted to focus on the silkies, brahmas, gray calls and mandarins, and needed some more pens

.

Sold of all my OEGB, all of my call ducks except the grays and all the geese. Still trying to sell off the last pair of faverolles I have. I just got rid of the call ducks friday night.

Im down to 36 chickens and 14 ducks. Not counting the ducklings and chicks in the brooders.

Yes, I've been down-sizing for the last year. I've sold off my RIR, Mottled Javas, Buff Orpingtons, Most of my Blue Wyandottes, my Cuckoo Marans, my Speckled Sussex and my mixed laying flock.

didn"t work though................LOL

I keep hatching and not selling as much as i did. i turned off one bator and i figure i will let these grow then sell them. i have been doing OEGB and now silkies. i just have alot of random chicks from swap eggs and such. i plan on getting rid of most of them except for a couple hens.

I feel like i pay more for critter food than human food............

I've considered it a few times, esp. since some of my hens seem to always be on a laying strike lately. My DH is actually arguing with me about it. He says as long as I get enjoyment out of keeping them he'll continue to buy their feed without complaint.
I have 12 more chicks coming next month.

I am rearranging I am selling out of blue salmon faverolles and starting a lavender faverolles project. Starting a BBS faverolles flock and building a great salmon faverolles flock.

Yes, I am. I've sold six hens recently and will be letting two more go soon. I have seven youngsters who are going on 13 weeks old, but I also have three hens who will pass on soon from internal laying issues, so I'm not adding any, really. Eventually, I'll phase out my BBS Orpingtons when Suede is gone.
