He's such a lovely specimen, I might attempt to preserve him in acrylic resin.

Trarantula hawk (AKA Pepsis wasp). Their sting is insanely painful. 0/10 do not recomment getting hit by one. We have 9 different varieties in AZ at almost all elevations. Blue mud Daubers look similar but their wings don't have that amber/orange tint. That's what give away the tarantula hawk. Mud daubers have a bit differently shaped antenna too.
